Adult Education
Classes for adults of all ages are provided both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. These classes seek to help all members grow in their walk with Christ.
Adventures in Missions (AIM)
Through AIM, there are many opportunities for you to get involved in extraordinary ministries all around the world.

Card Ministry
The focus of the card ministry is to welcome visitors and new members and encourage shut-ins, those ill, and missionaries. Knowing that brothers and sisters care and are praying goes a long way in helping those receiving cards feel connected during difficult times. A list of names and addresses of visitors, new members, missionaries, and those shut in or ill will be provided to those wanting to participate in this ministry. The church will provide postcards and postage if needed.
Card Ladies
This group gets together on the 2nd Monday of each month and creates hand-made cards for members and others needing encouragement.

Children’s Clothes Closet
The Closet now provides clothing for children of Union Hill as well as Nixa and surrounding communities. This ministry is supported by monetary and clothing donations. The Closet accepts new or gently used clothing, stain free, current styles with working snaps, zippers and buttons.

Children’s Education (Hilltop Kids)
The goal of this curriculum is two fold – to teach the Bible and to make kids want to come to Bible class. The material is presented in such a way that the students retain it. It is also fun and the kids enjoy it so much that they do not want to miss Bible class. The lessons are chronological, and include real life application as well as a focus on memory work.
Classics

Connection Café
Come enjoy a home-cooked meal every Wednesday evening before Bible classes. The meal is only $3 and is available between 5:30pm and 6:15pm.

Disaster Relief
The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort immediately responds to any major disaster in the continental United States by sending truckloads of emergency food, water, cleaning, and other supplies to disaster victims.
Fair Haven Children’s Home
Fair Haven is a private, non-profit, residential care facility, founded in 1964 by the Watermill Church of Christ. The campus sits on 65 acres located approximately eight miles east of Springfield, Missouri, near the city of Strafford. There are five group homes where residents live as families. Husband and wife teams head each home as house parents. The last Sunday of each month we take a separate collected offering for The Children’s Home. Fair Haven also operates a thrift store to help support this important work.

Family Social
Once a month, the entire congregation enjoys a meal and fellowship together. Generally, this meal follows the evening service on the 4th Sunday of the month. On months that have 5 Sundays, the family social will follow a combined service at 11:30 am.
First Impressions
This ministry welcomes everyone into worship. Participants in this ministry pass out bulletins to those entering the auditorium.

Funeral Meal Committee
This ministry helps to coordinate a meal for the family of the deceased. They organize the volunteers cooking for the meal, as well as set up the room, decorate, serve and clean up after.
Union Hill Food Pantry
The food pantry is an emergency pantry that provides three days’ worth of food assistance for families in Christian County and the surrounding area.

Front Porch Ministry
Visitors to Union Hill get a real treat when members show up on their front porch with home-made COOKIES! We don’t wear out our welcome, and usually don’t even go inside. We just express our appreciation for their visit, invite them to come again, and leave the cookies for them to enjoy.
Information Booth
Those manning the booth in the foyer are there to answer questions and provide information for members and visitors who may have questions about the various ministries and activities at Union Hill. Volunteers acting as “Information Ministers” man the booth for a few minutes after first service, and before and after second service on Sunday mornings. Training will be provided for those who wish to serve in this ministry.

Kingdom Kids
Kingdom Kids is a children’s Bible hour for ages three through five that is held during the sermon time on Sunday mornings. Songs and stories are used to present the Bible in an age appropriate manner. Members and visitors are encouraged to allow their children to participate.
Ladies’ Luncheon
Ladies of the congregation try to come together once a month for food and fellowship. Someone volunteers at each luncheon to set up arrangements for the next month’s get-together. The luncheon is generally scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:30 AM, although occasionally changed so it doesn’t interfere with other scheduled activities. It is a great time of fellowship with our sisters in Christ. Guests are also welcome.

Media Operations
This ministry includes management of the sound system and displaying of worship song lyrics and PowerPoint presentations on the video screen during regular services and at special events.
Men’s Breakfast
The men share breakfast and a devotional the first Saturday morning of each month beginning at 8 o’clock.

Professional Christian Counseling
Union Hill Counseling Center was established as a service to the community through the sponsorship of the members at Union Hill Church of Christ. Fees for individual, marriage or family therapy are based on the use of a sliding scale which takes into consideration the participant’s family size and income. Therapy services are offered to individuals regardless of church membership and without the expectation for any religious affiliation. Dr.Jackie Dean is the licensed psychologist providing the counseling. If you or someone you know may benefit from this ministry or for more information, please view the website (unionhillcounselingcenter.com) or contact Dr. Jackie Dean 417-725-5175.

Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House provides “home away from home” for families of children with serious illnesses who are undergoing treatment at medical facilities in the Springfield area. On the 4th Monday of each month volunteers from Union Hill provide and serve a meal for families staying at both Springfield Locations.

Serving in Worship
Each Sunday morning worship service requires several men to serve in various speaking and non-speaking roles, including reading scripture, sharing a communion thought, leading communion prayers, passing communion trays and preparing the communion trays for the next worship service.
Singing Ministry
This ministry seeks to encourage and enhance worship through singing. Ministries include: 1) Practicing and learning new songs on the first Wednesday evening of the month and the last 15 minutes of Steve Martin’s class on the other Wednesday evenings 2) The songs for the coming Sunday are e-mailed out to those who are interested in receiving them 3) Members involved in this ministry seek to encourage everyone by practicing the worship songs before Sunday services in order that they can project four part harmony from within the congregation during worship. They meet 30 minutes before each Sunday morning service to run through the songs with the song leader. 4) Lastly, the singing ministry visits and sings with shut-ins and those in nursing homes and hospitals. Ultimately we desire for our song service and our singing to glorify God and encourage each other.

Sisters in Service (SIS) Encouragement Teams
Ladies of the congregation are periodically called to help provide meals for new moms, those coming home from the hospital, funerals, and also to assist with wedding and baby showers.
South Texas Missions
Union Hill goes on a building campaign once or twice a year to South Texas where we spend a week participating in a variety of construction projects. This is a great opportunity for all ages to serve brothers and sisters in impoverished areas near the Mexican border.

Thailand Missions
Udorn Inthong preaches the gospel in Thailand. Union Hill has supported him in this work for many years. We also support three students at the RAM School of Biblical Studies in Bangkok, Thailand.
Union Hill Family Campout
The Union Hill Family Campout is an annual camping event held since the beginning of our congregation, usually the second weekend in October. We use a resort campground on Table Rock Lake. This is an excellent way to get to know your brothers and sisters in a different atmosphere than the church building. We share some meals throughout the weekend, carve pumpkins together, participate in singing, a devotional around the campfire on Saturday night, and worship together on Sunday morning. There is plenty of time to relax and fellowship too. Saturday is a fun-filled day of fellowship, crafts, washer tournament, games, and pumpkin carving.

Union Hill Youth Ministry
We encourage our youth to grow in personal faith and Bible knowledge while serving in the Lord’s body and in the community. By equipping them in this way, they are better able to reach out to others who don’t know Christ. We also want them to enjoy fun Christian fellowship in a positive peer group atmosphere. Chaperons are often needed at these activities as well as drivers to transport youth to and from the activities. Hosts are also needed for weekly fellowships (Teen Hang Time – THT) after Sunday evening services.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Once a year, usually in June, Union Hill hosts a Vacation Bible School. The focus is to teach the Bible in a fun way through stories, memory verses, skits, songs, crafts, puppet shows and other visible and hands-on activities. All members and visitors are welcome. VBS runs from Sunday evening through Wednesday night.

Visitation
The elderly are an important part of our Christian community. Those involved in this ministry visit nursing home residents who request a visit and who are home bound due to physical limitations. If you possess a heart of compassion, along with patience, kindness and a listening ear, this ministry needs you.
World Bible School
God uses WBS by linking a worldwide network of Christians, missionaries and churches to teach and reach truth – seekers, bringing them into God’s family. Everyday Christians of all ages, equipped with Bible lessons, help teach those who want to study. They provide the lessons through the mail to students encouraging and guiding them to respond to the Gospel.
